Nakikia A. Wilson aka “CoachKeepItMoving” is a native of Kinston, North Carolina and mother of 3 children. She is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University where she earned her B. A. Degree in Radio & Television Broadcast. She was employed by ABC News 45 in Winston-Salem, NC becoming the first Black female Technical Director in the Triad. After working for several years in News Broadcast, Nakikia realized her passion for helping and advocating for people in the community. She continued her education earning a master’s degree in health services administration from Strayer University and holds multiple state licenses as a Life and Health Producer. Her education and passion for others have allowed her to work successfully as a Certified Advanced Medical Support Assistant with the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center helping Veterans and their families experience quality healthcare and treatment.
Nakikia shares her own personal experiences of overcoming mental and emotional insecurities and living with the health challenges of Multiple Sclerosis. Through the movement, #StartSpeakingStopStigma, created to dispel myths and stigmas surrounding mental health, she is extremely transparent about her own struggles to unlearn generations of toxic attitudes and behaviors and to promote education and awareness for mental and emotional wellness as the host and creator of Mental Tea Podcast and by also becoming best-selling author of “Healing Toxic Habit’s Vol 2.”
Nakikia is a certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner and Trainer, Emotional Healing & Support Coach, and Youth/Adult Mental Health First Aider. She also holds certifications in Mindfulness and Mediation Practices, Emotional Function Techniques and Mental Health Awareness Advocacy. She is owner and operator of KIMCESS (Keep It Moving Coaching & Emotional Support Services), LLC assisting youth and adults with their journey towards mental wellness and emotional healing by encouraging the understanding of having a growth mindset, developing emotional intelligence, and the importance prioritizing self-care, Mind, Body, and Spirit.
